Challenge Yourself to Operate at Your Best

Sarah McDonald, aka Sarah Is Focused, is the owner of Focused Fitness. She launched the business in a transitional period. Her mission is to help clients reach their highest potential, liberate themselves from personal limiting mindsets, and find perseverance.

Fitness and wellness have allowed this tenacious businesswoman to create a clever concept on connecting with the mind, body, and soul. As a personal trainer and wellness coach, she has experienced firsthand the impact of valuing your physical health—not just for the sake of appearance but for mental clarity, emotional resilience, and overall vitality. Being able to share that journey with others, helping them reclaim their energy and balance, has been deeply fulfilling. “Fitness is more than just moving our bodies—it’s about discovering our strength, our discipline, and our ability to overcome challenges in and out of the gym.”

Your inner core should be the foundation.

Glorifying your personal health each day should be a priority, whether through fitness, proper nutrition, or mental health practices. This is how humans become their best selves in all areas of their lives. It’s not about perfection but consistency. Honoring your health is an act of self-love, and when we make it a daily practice, it ripples out into everything we touch—our work, relationships, and how we impact the world. Every day we should choose our health; we’re choosing to thrive rather than to just survive. When we strive, we have more energy and universal abundance to give to the people around us and to the communities we’re part of. Our daily routine needs to be personalized, and here are a few foundational practices we can cultivate and help you with in the long run.

  1. Morning Breathwork/Meditation: Starting the day with a few minutes of breathwork centers your mind, reduces stress, and sets a positive tone for the day. It’s an immediate reset for both body and mind. Meditation brings you inward and gives you space to have clarity and focus on what’s important and release what’s not. It truly balances you.

  2. Movement As Medicine: Move your body daily, even if it’s just for 10-15 minutes. Whether it’s a quick workout, yoga, or a walk outside, consistent movement boosts energy, mood, and mental clarity. A good 1-hour strength training and cardio workout is ideal, though to help you stay strong, fit, and in shape.

  3. Nutrition As Nourishment: Seeing food as fuel for your body. Detaching from binge and emotional eating. Releasing the tendency not to be mindful of what you put inside your body temple. Eat whole, clean, nutrient-dense foods that not only support your physical health but also promote sustained energy and mental focus throughout the day. You are what you eat. Quality is key.

  4. Creating Boundaries: In both professional and personal settings, boundaries are essential for maintaining balance. Learning to say no when necessary, carving out time for self care, and being dedicated, even if it’s a few minutes of stillness or journaling.

  5. Mindfulness Breaks: Taking short breaks to breathe, meditate, or simply pause throughout the day can help manage stress and maintain focus. Just stop and breathe through any chaos and think twice. When we react during our pressure boiling points, and we only make things harder for self.

You can find purpose and redirection by becoming self-aware. Internal work helps us silence external noise and focus on what truly drives us from within. It allows us to identify limiting beliefs, overcome inner blocks, and align with our core values. As a coach and facilitator, she has seen how this deep inner work transforms not only how we view ourselves but how we engage with the world. It allows us to live with intention, connect with our higher purpose, and make choices that feel authentically aligned with who we are. Purpose isn’t something we find externally—it’s something we develop by understanding who we are on a deeper surface level. It’s a process, and you must be willing to do the shadow work. Go for it, and never look back. Break free from the chains of fear that make us incapable of conquering the unknown and unhealed parts internally.
